The third race of the 2022 IndyCar schedule goes green on Sunday from the streets of Long Beach California. A staple on the IndyCar schedule dating back to 1984 when Mario Andretti took the checkered flag en route to winning three of the first four runnings of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Between Mario and his son Michael, the Andretti’s have seven wins at Long Beach, including Mario’s Formula 1 win in 1977. Michael has won the event five times as an owner, winning the last three with Colton Herta and Alexander Rossi. Scott McLaughlin comes in as the points leader, scoring a victory on the streets of St. Pete and a runner up finish at Texas. The second year driver continues to build confidence as we itch closer to the month of May. Let’s go inside the numbers before Sunday’s Long Beach Grand Prix.
